It’s time to play the final games for one last time! Netflix has finally released the first teaser of the final and third season of much awaited and blockbuster Korean drama Squid Game. Last season ended on a major cliffhanger and we’ve all been waiting for this one for so long!

Originally, the two seasons were written as one long story arc and were even filmed together, back-to-back.

Squid Game Season 3 Teaser

Season 3 picks up from the nail biting ending of Season 2 where Gi-hun (Player 456) is thrust back into the harrowing games. Still suffering from the death of his best friend, Jung-bae (Player 390), and a failed rebellion, Gi-hun is back with determination to dismantle the games. To that effect, he faces some old and new foes, including the Front Man (Player 001) who posed as a fake player and infiltrated their rebellion.

The deadly yet familar games are back with a blast, this time packed in a pink ribbon black box.

The teaser opens with iconic pink guards carrying a black box wrapped in pink ribbon into the games’ resting area. It’s the same box or coffins for the fallen players, highlighting the life altering results of the game. As other players approach the box and open it, they see Player 456 inside. After Gi-hun’s awakening, we are back into beginning of a brutal new game. And coming back from Season 2, the massive gumball machine with blue and red balls is back to create chaos in the game.

And, as the anticipation builds, there’s the most chilling sound – an unsettling sound of a baby’s cry. The stakes are high!

Squid Game Season 3 brings the trilogy created by Hwang Dong-hyuk to a satisfying end.
